Half way there!

So today is January 25th which means I have officially been in spain for 5 whole months! And since I'm coming home in June I only have 5 months left. Ok so a little more because I'm not actually coming home on June 25th, but still!!! This is way exciting for me! Home doesn't feel like an eternity away anymore!
So to celebrate I went to the candy shop next to the church after seminary and bought a big bag of candy! And then on the way home there was the most amazing sunset!!! My camera of course didn't get it all, but you can see that it was pretty. Then I got home, changed into my fat kid, extremely warm, shirt and my hair was retarted from the wind and I was carrying my big bag of candy that I just had to take a picture! Haha I look so bad!!! I love it! Now on to studying!

Changes

So I've been reading a lot of blogs lately and I realized that mine is way boring! So today when I got sick of studying philosophy and I didn't want to read Harry Potter (because I'm at the spider chapter of the second book and I hate that chapter!), I changed the design of the blog. I've also decided to try and add some more pictures, but that will come later on when I actually have pictures to add. Oh and I think I'm going to take it off the the private setting because it's a pain having to sign in everytime I want to do something. So that's it basically. That's the most exciting thing that has happened to me since the last time I wrote.
Oh and just an update on school, I took three tests this week that I think I did really well on but we'll see. One of the tests was for spanish and my teacher counts my grammar mistakes so I basically have no chance anyway, but the other two I think I will pass. At least I hope I will!!! I start my finals next week and the director of the school has decided to change the schedule. Because we are missing four days of school to go on our class trip this term, he decided to make us go to school at 8 on the days of the finals, take two hour and a half tests, then go to regular class after recreo. The kids were so mad that they protested during tutor hour yesterday. It didn't change anything though. So now we will probably all fail our tests, well at the least the first ones of the day we might pass, all because we need to make up school. What's the point? Does he honestly think we are going to pay attention in regular class after 3 hours of testing with 3 more hours the next day to study for? So that's the big drama in Spain.

Tests, tests and more tests

So last week, this week, and next week I have about a million tests! Tomorrow I have my history test which I think I'll do ok on, but then after that I have science and another language test. This whole weekend I was home studying because in two weeks we have our globales (finals). I also had a lot of time to think, which is never a good thing, and today I woke up kind of homesick. Actually, I wouldn't call it that because I don't really miss home that much, I miss my first month in spain where our branch was the strongest it's ever been. Today when I went to church I found out that the mission president is taking the sister missionaries out of burgos, so that leaves us with only two elders. I understand that the spain bilbao mission is losing a lot of missionaries, but I really think that the sisters should stay. Because without them I'm afraid that our branch will go even more downhill. Oh and I also found out that Elder Holmes is being transferred to the office which means a new elder is coming to burgos. When I asked who the new elder will be I found out that he's one of elder estevez-garcia's best friends from barcelona. I don't know how I feel about that because seeing how they are good friends, it could be a really good thing or a really bad thing. Also, the burgos branch hasn't had much luck when there's two native elders. And I'm depressed because there goes my english opportunities. No matter how good someone thinks they are in english, there is nothing better than speaking to an american! So that's been my life the past couple of days. Nothing has happened. Just studying and studying and hoping that I'll get good grades on these tests!

It's a Great Day to be Alive!

So when I woke up today I was super tired, but oddly I was happy. For some reason I've been like that for the past week and I don't know why. Yesterday should have been a terrible day with the rain, I took a really hard math test, Pachi and Cristina are having huge problems with work, Miguel and Alvaro are sick, and I still had three tests this week, but it wasn't. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I haven't slept in the past three days? Anyway, so I was singing this morning despite the fact that it's wednesday which means I have 7 hours of school instead of 6. When I got to school I was talking to a lot of people and having a pretty good time. Then after recreo I had math which means we were going to go over our tests from yesterday. While we were correcting I thought that I did really bad and our teacher told our class that for the first time in her career she gave out 5 0's. So I was pretty worried, but then she handed back our tests and so my surprise I ended up with 9.5!!! By far the best in the class! Way more than half the class failed and I almost got a perfect score! The only thing I did wrong was get confused on two negatives! The best part is that this was new material for me and my calculator can't do this stuff so the kids have no excuses this time!
Anyway, the rest of the day was great! My philosophy didn't show up so we got an hour to study, my history teacher moved our test to Monday instead of tomorrow, and in economy we watched a movie. Oh and also in seminary we watched two movies, and I love the cheesy seminary movies! I don't know about Utah but here in spain the movies are actually like mini series to I can't wait to find out what happens to the boy in this one!
And now I'm sitting here taking a break from studying and eating the best candy in the world! Actually, I decided to try a new candy today and it was in the shape of a pepper, but it's gummy. I just tried it and my mouth is burning up! But the rest of the candies are great! Well now I really have to study for a language test.

Back in Burgos

So the rest of the three wisemen day went by fast. We went to their grandma's house and then me and Noemi came home and went to our friend Zuri's house where we had a blast. Then the day was over and my trip was over. The next day I woke up, packed my bags, and went to the bus station where Zuri met us. When I got on the bus I found out that I had to sit next to this man who looked like he hadn't showered in a while, and he was also over weight. So I spent the entire two hours tilted because my chair was occupied by his arm. Plus there was this lady who had the nastiest caugh and didn't cover her mouth. I'm surprised that I'm not sick.
When I got back to Burgos I was depressed. I didn't study at all that day and so I just sat in my bed and read harry potter in spanish. Yesterday I did a little better and managed to study for a full three hours, but today I need to be a lot better because I have 4 huge tests this week. One math test, one history test, one recovery language test, and one grammer test. Oh plus I have this huge homework assignment due for language on monday. So I better get to work or I'll find myself in a lot of trouble!!!

Bilbao

So on the 31st I went to Bilbao to visit my mormon friend, Noemi and her family. I was super excited to get away from non-mormons for new years eve, because well, they drink like none other that night. So I got to Bilbao and then we went to Noemi´s grandma´s house to have a huge dinner. At midnight we ate 12 grapes to the sound of the 12 bells and then we went out on the deck and partied and watched all the fireworks. It was sooooo much fun! I haven´t laughed this hard since my last night in Utah at KFC.
The next day we went to her grandma´s house again and had another amazing meal and watched National Treasure 2 in spanish. The next day I went to a movie with her friends and then the next day was sunday. I got to see my other good friend, ZuriƱe! And I met all the missionaries in Bilbao, and wow there´s a lot!!! I guess I´m still not used to having missionaries at church, and I´m definitely not used to having 10 missionaries in one ward! That night Zuri came over and showed us this thing on the internet, it´s a secret, but don´t worry it wasn´t anything bad.
Monday we went with the missionaries to this church by the sea. It was a pretty good hike and there was a ton of mud so it was a real adventure. And it was soooo beautiful!!! There were these two girls with us who kept flirting with all the missionaries, which just isn´t done, so I was happy when one of them fell in the mud, that´s so terrible of me!!! Well when we got to the top we rang a bell that means we´ll get married. There was also this man that was from Barcelona and he rang it for 10 minutes to the tune of the soccer team. Super annoying. But overall, I´m so happy I got the opportunity to go to this church, because it really was amazing.
Then yesterday we studied in the morning and then we went roller blading in the afternoon. Noemi has some classes, so I tagged along, and I was a failure. The teacher was trying to teach me to skate backwards and I about died!
Today is a holiday so we´re going to their grandma´s house again. In the morning there were presents in our shoes under the tree and the family here got me earrings. Well the ´wisemen´brought them, but still. Then we ate a cake for breakfast and there was a bean in it. Whoever got the bean had to pay, and the mom got the bean.
Well I better go now and get ready.
